Hello!!! This is my fourth year working at ASFM and it has been an incredible experience to work in this institution. I'm very excited to coordinate the Community Service Learning Department, because there are many exciting projects to work within our community. We all know ASFM students can make a difference.

I strongly believe in what Edmund Burke once said, that "the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good people to do nothing." So I don't know about you but I dislike evil to win, I want to be considered as part of those who work for a noble cause or at least try to do something in order to make of this world a better place to live in. I dare you to share my dream and to try to imagine how you can contribute to make of our world a better place.

About me, well, I studied my career in Education and began teaching while I was studying. Since I loved the teaching experience so much, I decided to study a masters degree in Education and Communication at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey. I just finished a second masters degree program in Family Studies, at the John Paul II Institute of Monterrey. I have more than ten years of experience working at the highschool level and I must say that working with teenagers is one of the things that I like to do the most. Why? Because of many reasons; but mainly because I love your enthusiasm and youth, because your smiles are contagious, and because I get to be around the future in the present!!!

To tell you a little bit more about me, my hobbies are to take long walks, to read, and to write. I try to publish a few articles on values at the local newspaper every once in a while. Also, to travel is my passion. A year ago I went to visit Israel and it was an incredible and unforgettable experience. I like to go on missionary trips and spend some time with the people of these small towns and communities.

So dear students, this is me in a few words...but you will get to know much more about me later on. I hope you will enjoy this school year's activities because I'm sure we are going to have the opportunity to learn many new things together. I am sure you have many things to teach me as well. I wish you a very successful year, one in which you are able to enjoy the ride, to smile, to be generous with your time and hearts, and to experience every day the happiness of this beautiful adventure of being alive!!!

And don't forget:

"Have I done any good in the world today? Have I cheered up the sad and made someone feel glad? If not, I have failed indeed."

Esther Peterson
